tried to watch the very early morning repeat but fell asleep while Hagel was speaking and by the time i woke up they were about to go to Coleman so turned it off.
loved how JK made clear his position was not abandonment. Khalilzad and just about everyone who go up against Kerry always look like such losers. they don't even attempt to play the shit that Condi did with "do not impugn my integrity" crap. love how JK makes them focus on what he is really asking rather than allow them to give a speech full of worthless talking points.
imagine if JK was the Dem Chair instead of Biden. what JK could do with all that time that Biden wastes on speaking about whatever.

3. I truly do think that my all-time favorites are the Hector ones in SBC |

Sen. Kerry simply shredded the guy. Hector Barreto has to be one of the more incompetent people ever appointed to public office. He was an abysmal Administrator and was clearly sent into that agency to stall it and do nothing. (Bush hates aid to small businesses. He doesn't believe in it.)
Watching Kerry take Hector apart was just something else. (Although, to be honest, it was also not a fair contest. I guess it was like putting a loaded cannon up against a guy wielding spitballs, but still, I loved each and every encounter.)
It was a pleasure to see Hector reduced to saying, "Yes sir," and "I'll try to do better sir" whenever Kerry would just nail him on something. Highly entertaining (albeit sad at the roots) thing to see. Hector was so out of his league with the good Senator. (I really think it even amused Sen. Snowe whenever Kerry would just tee off on Hector. I swear she was smiling at the spectacle of it all.)

4. I was watching Zal.Kal.'s body language |
|
He was noticeably more tense while talking to JK. He kept making these weird smiles (not unlike Biden does, actually) but his eyes didn't smile. After JK was done with him, he looked much more relaxed, and was more off-hand with Chaffee, who came next. It was fun to see.

5. I agree Ginny, completely |

He lost his composure at several points and was replying by side-stepping the points Sen. Kerry was making. He lost some eye contact as well.
Damn, that man is a born prosecutor. He must have really been something in the courtroom back in the day. I would not have wanted to go up against someone with that kind of a mind and that kind of ability to really dig at a question or point.
Coleman is an idiot. No wonder Amb. Khalilzad felt more comfortable with him. Coleman is a Bush lapdog and unwilling and unable to say anything against any of Bush's policies. Contrast that with Sen. Hagel, who is at least critical of what is going on in Iraq. (Although he still votes for everything the Repubs send along, sigh!)
