Get John Kerry's Back
John Kerry’s new Kids Come First Act (S.114) deserves our support. We have created an action alert on Congress.org to make it easy for everyone to send a letter to their Senators urging them to Co-Sponsor the Kids Come First Act in the Senate.

We’re asking that other Blogs join in this effort as well, by posting a thread of support for the Kids Come First Act and linking to our Congress.org Action Alert. Post a link to your thread in support of the Kids Come First Act here in the comments and we will add you to our list of Bloggers who have “Got John Kerry’s Back”!

2. i think
i think this legislation to get health care for kids is more important than the condi, gonzales, and other cabinet confirmation votes.

i might be a minority on that.

i'm not saying that those opposed them are wrong, but that those who voted yes shouldn't be attacked as some are doing now. i think criticism is more deserving if they opposed health care for kids.

3. Well I agree with you
Especially about "i think criticism is more deserving if they opposed health care for kids.", yes I agree. Hell even my leaning conservative government teacher said he could support something like this. I wonder if he will say he supports it because he had a habit of badmouthing Kerry.

5. i think it depends on how they make the argument
they need to make the argument into one of a choice between health care for kids or tax cuts for wealthy people. and make it into an argument for lives of children versus money for wealthy . and call it a choice of morals and values.

the republicans would love to reduce it into a fake argument of government controlled or forced medicine for kids versus freedom for parents to make choices for their kids.

the first argument is done so it makes those who oppose it look bad and makes people less likely to oppose it as a result.

6. Right
I hope they frame it right, it's a great idea. I have a lot of respect naturally for those who voted against Condi but I will be more critical of those who oppose a bill like this.

7. You're right
I'm actually concerned about this Condi, Gonzales crap. I can't believe people are actually falling for this "racism" thing. It's pretty frustrating to me. I'm a Latina and I disown Gonzales because he is a disgusting human being but will others feel like I do? I'm just venting

10. My Mom watched some of Scarborough tonight (and she sure regrets it)
I guess the Democrats are opposing Condi and Gonzoles only because of their race.:eyes:

The Dem's laid out their reasons and they just LIE flat out about why they are doing it. Un-friggin-believable!

11. The problem is some people believe it
Some people just don't have the time to be informed and take what is said in the media to be true because they don't see any reason why the media would lie. I don't know, I'm feeling pretty down.

12. I know and I don't understand why we don't have a concerted effort to
slam MSNBC.

They may stick Tucker in the 9-10 prime time slot with Scarborough afterward. Two partisan Republicans with shows and Democrats - 0, nada! I love KO but he sure as hell isn't a partisan Democrat.

They don't even make an attempt anymore to be fair.

On MTP, Russert will have two RW pundits on with two "objective" journalists and this is supposed to be a "balanced" panel.

Tweety had on Kay Bailey Hutchinson tonight to talk about the Democrats votes on Rice's nominations. Excuse me? Where the hell is the person from the other party.

If you ask people to contact them, they just say "don't watch that sh!t!

No, we can't abandon this fight. It is like with Sinclair. We need to bug the hell out of them. We need to call them on every unfair, imbalanced and partisan thing they do.

The bad part for me is that my Outlook doesn't work so I call and complain sometimes but I can't send e-mails. Aarrggghhh!

13. Calling is better anyway
That means you are pretty dang mad.

I'm of the shut that shit off mentality. I think emails just shows them what hype is getting viewers which means they run the worst shit more. We got Sinclair because we went after their shareholders. If we'd just gone after headquarters, we'd have gotten nowhere with that.
