A bracing Chimes at Midnight Monday morning post

Sooo...

The Globe's own haughty little Language Cop Jeff Jacoby thinks the term "chickenhawk" is a slur on the patriotism of such worthies as Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, George Bush Jr. Tom Delay and of course, Abraham Lincoln.
You know what he is right.

But if "chickenhawk" is a bozo-no-no, then surely distributing teensy little band aids emblazoned with the Purple Heart at the 2004 GOP Convention is some sort of ominous transgression isn't it?

ISN'T IT??????

Humble Elias doesn't recall word one out of Jeff Jacoby back in September 2004 when the GOP's best and brightest SAILED past questioning John Kerry's patriotism in favor of simply calling the Junior Senator from Massachusetts a coward and traitor.
No pecksniffery then about slurs and excess, no heartfelt pleas for civility and comity... no not from Jeff Jacoby.

So yeah Jeff Jacoby is a chickenhawk...a blustering sandbox Caesar who'd loudly defecate himself if he ever heard a shot fired in anger.

Is that above sentence a slur?

Yes...deal with it the game officially stopped being about the niceties in September 2004.

BTW, for those unfamiliar with Jacoby, he's the Globe's resident right wing commentator. I think they feel that since he's jewish and a fervent zionist that makes it okay. It doesn't.

2. Jeff Jacoby is such a moron
I actually laughed while reading his column. What a whiny, petulant little ASS he is! Please tell me no one in this town actually takes him or (shudder) Howie Carr seriously.

3. Jacoby is a liar. When you get some time, go to the library
and look up his columns on public transportation and how we need to put more money into roads and less into things like trains and subways. (This is because people like Jeffy like to be in their cars, it's more comfortable.)

He is a liar, a fraud and a fake. He exists at the Globe only to slime Democrats and provide a fake balance. I never read his stuff, unless I am stuck somewhere and can't read anything thing else.

So, how are things at the office? I heard the Boss is nice to work for, but really, really busy and he travels a lot. How's it going?

4. I never realized how busy he really is

The man is EVERYWHERE. I have no idea how he does it. I get pissy if I don't have at least 7 hours of a sleep a night, and I'm young. He is just a force of nature. I haven't seen him recently, but I know he'll be in town next week, so here's hoping :D

Strangely enough, I think his schedule will be LESS hectic when he's the President. Not that he won't be out and about meeting people all across America, because he actually cares about the welfare of the people in this country unlike the spoiled arrogant POS we have now.

5. Gee, I wonder if any public gatherings are planned
for next week. I haven't seen anything posted. Maybe it's just 'meet and greets' around the Commonwealth. I'm sure that if something else comes up, we'll hear.

There are about 4 weeks left for you, right? Then back to the land of soybeans and college books. Is this right? Are you planning on a wrap-up party or dinner out?

6. Don't remind me
College never sounds appealing after summer, much less so this year. I want to do this after I graduate. I can't wait to jump into this world again.
