1. Those are awesome!
Did they say anything about the opposition?

2. Yes, but more about what we can do than what they can't.
Rendell is an old time pol. He said his opponent is a good man, better than most repubs, but that he can't do the job.
Howard, OTOH, said Republicans don't care about ordinary Americans.
I should have taken notes, but I was too busy with the pics. And it was HOT as hell.
I got a some good literature on Santorum from the Young Democrats. They did a nice job with their booth. Voter registration, literature, greeting, etc. Great kids!

3. OTOH! LOL!
Good: the Young Democrats are focusing on Santorum.

The Repubs have run this country into the ground. BTW, go here and check out this Colbert clip!

5. GV doesn't lie when she says it was hot.
I felt like the Wicked Witch in the Wizard of Oz. I was melting. The heavier literature came in handy for more than just reading- it was great fanning material.

GV really did take some good pictures. Oh, and she summarizes the speeches well. I will add this though, Rendell was definitely testing out the morals/religious theme today. I personally think he did a fairly good job speaking as he did about "real morals" and how little the Bible actually says about abortion and homosexuality and how much it does say about helping those less fortunate than ourselves. On a professional level the religious references were presented very well, what bothered me though is that I am aware that Rendell is Jewish and his Jesus and Bible references bothered me a bit.

I also remember JK talking about all of this months ago. Sigh! he never gets enough credit for what he does.

6. Lord, the things we endure for democracy
and good Democrats. Glad to hear you had a good time Wisteria. And it will be good to meet you some day. (Soon I hope.) Pennsylvania Dems are the best. You good people have hung in there through Specter and Icky Ricky and are still fighting the good fight. (Okay, you put me to shame. I am in awe of you good folks and how you keep up the fight.)

I really hope that I can go to a PA rally some day or, if scheduling doesn't allow that, bring you up to Massachusetts at a later date to hang out. (And meet good Democrats. Hey, who knows, maybe even some of our taller Democrats. Ask GV. We aren't all reserved and aloof and stuff like that. We can be quite friendly and inclusive and even buy a few rounds, when properly motivated.)

Thanks for being there and doing this. It's wonderful to read about.

11. I would love to meet up with you and the others.
That alone would make the trip worthwhile. GV and I are considering transportation now. We can't decide whether to drive or fly.

8. And I thought Dean's stuff sounded familiar.
When he started his list with "Tell the Truth", I thought, hmmm...sounds very Kerry to me.
It was good, though.

12. Given the fact that it was the highest rated sound bite in the Luntz
focus group - I suspect that we will hear variations from many Democrats - including Hillary and Edwards.

13. It sounds better coming from Kerry though
It echoes what he has said all his public life. His original testimony in front of the SFRC was in part due to outrage at a government that didn't tell the truth. That is the common thread throughout his whole public career, that Americans deserve a government that is honest with them. Americans deserve to know what they are being asked to sacrifice and pay for with their taxes. And Americans need to know that their government is living up to it's own best principles.

It fits him because you can sense the belief and force of will behind it with the good Senator. It's his authentic voice and what he has always said. That's him.
