1. Tay, you need to read this.
The issue is outrageous.
And the statement is from Capt Powers.
:loveya:

2. OMG, can you even believe these bastards would do this
They claim to be pro-troops, and then they go and do this. It is simply unconscionable and immoral to deny this funding to the troops that their 'war of choice' has so damaged. My apologies to the more genteel folks here, but m*therf&ckers doesn't even begin to describe this bunch in the Rethug Party.

Republicans just don't care about anyone but the rich. They really don't.

Oh and Captain Powers :loveya: :loveya: :loveya: got a promotion. His business card that he gave me at Take Back America said he was Program Manager, War Kids Relief. He is now listed as: Associate Director of Veterans for America. Congratulations to him and it's well-earned and well-deserved. (I did ask him to move to Massachusetts and run for Congress. After all, Massachusetts needs good Democratic candidates and I just sensed a lot of talent in that young man. He needs to speak more, get a bit more polished, but damn, I love that guy.)

Sigh, he was great both times I saw him. And he has a good sense of humor as well. Thank God he smacked the Rethugs hard on this immoral action on the TBI research.

3. What I don't get
is how any veteran can support anyone in this administration or in this Repub congress.
Do they just not know?

5. They Admin puts up a smokescreen
and pretends that fake bravado is what should matter, not actual deeds. Sigh! I think a lot of military, not all, but a lot, are waking up to this. Sadly it takes stuff like this happening to get people to pay attention to who actually wants to help and protect 'our kids' in theater and after.

7. Hopefully, organizations like Veterans for America
will continue to get the word out.
We need the vets, and they need us.

My vet brother votes Dem, but mostly because of his wife's influence, I think. He's still seems conflicted about not supporting the CIC, although he must know bush* is no friend the military.
It's tough to 'unlearn' some things.

6. It got kind of buried in the Conn and London arrest news
that buried everything else online. Sigh! This deserves to be brought up again and again. That bill to fund the Iraq operations is still pending in the Senate, after all, and won't be voted on until Sept.

From the US Senate site: Tuesday, September 5, 2006
11:00 a.m.: Convene and resume consideration of H.R.5631, the Department of Defense FY 2007 Appropriations bill.

There is still time to make the Senate do the right thing. I hope that Sen. Kerry brings this to the floor and gets the funding restored. God in heaven, if not here, then where?
