Pink Photos (tech question)
My friend's husband just got a Canon A70 from her husband who discarded it and got a new one. He said the camera took "pink" photos. He couldn't be bothered to read the manuals to figure it out.

I went through the manuals yesterday and didn't get much of an idea about what it could be. I have the A75 and have no problems with it. Anyone here have ideas?

I've asked him to send me some examples so when I get them, I'll post them.

1. Just a guess
But I would say the white balance is set wrong. I would play around with that to see if it changes the way the photos come out. If it's set for flourescent light it will add a pink cast to the photo. If it's set to auto and still coming out pink I would use the manual settings only.

Hope that helps.

2. I agree with electricmonk.
Check the white balance setting. Usually, you can change the white balance setting depending on the lighting situation, i.e., direct sunlight, shadow, flash, incandescent, fluorescent.

3. yep, definitely sounds like it was set on flourecent
color balance.

Although, It is odd that it would be on that setting using it automatically, they make these cameras so that it is difficult to mess up too bad. I do think though, that the color balance setting may be seperate from the other auto functions... if so, this could happen w/o the camera being broken.

In any case, unless it is a really bad color cast, it should be easy to fix the color in a photo editing program.

I'll tell her and we'll look into this angle.

You guys were too kind to say that my first sentence makes no sense!
LOL.

Stressed out to the max. Hope to return to normal in a few days.
