1. Well...if I had to guess...
I'd say the first one is pizza and the last one is human skin.

Other than that...no idea.

a pine cone for the third, and maybe your hand in the fifth, but I have no idea what the other two are.

Oh, wait, is number 4 a ridged potato chip?

10. May I ask what macro lens you are using?
And if my resident Santa Claus should ask me what's up next on my wish list, what should I tell him? Raging has already recommended the 100 mm macro. Does anyone disagree with that?

11. The "Ragin" 100 mm f/2.8 bug ass
Edited on Thu Jan-12-06 03:13 PM by F.Gordon
Which you can't go wrong with. An excellent lens. But... even though I'm completely done "buying glass" I'm considering selling it and getting the new EF-S 60mm f/2.8 bug ass. Hearing and "seeing" great things bout' it. It only works on EF-S camera bodies (which your camera is). My one complaint with the 100mm is that it's a tough walkabout lens to work with. With the 1.6 digital crop it's like using a 160mm lens.

Now.. I'm an advocate of using prime lenses cause they force ya to work with that focal length but I've found myself cursing on more than one occasion when I was using the 100mm cause I'd be in a situation that called for a shorter focal thingee. And I'd end up switchin to the 50mm (if I had it with me) But... since you are one of the great resident Landscape/Nature photogs here maybe you'd be better off with the 100mm.

I know nothing about bug ass photography other than what I've been learning through my own screw ups. Have been using my trusty matte black foam board to snap on cause "light" is a major issue. Trying to get it consistent like. Trying different light sources. Tonight I have a few stacking projects I need to work on.

Uh oh. Excessive Coffee Alert.. warning... warning....
Step away from the keyboard.

17. That's been my problem
"Many ideas, not many good pics."

It is hard. It's one thing to get close... it's quite another to do something interesting.

18. The answers.... (T-Nut pretty much nailed it)
It was interesting to "see" what everyone "saw". Sorry that I dragged it on so long.

1. Pizza
2. An old punched tin hand lantern
3. Pine Cone
4. Potato Chip
5. The top of my hand.. actually a vein in my hand. I had an even "yukkier" snap of my hand... showing all those spots... well, let's just say that growing old sucks.

Thanks for playing everyone.

19. I'm sorry I didn't see this in time to play.
I would have guessed steak or pork chop fat, sewer grate, pine cone, quilt batting, and skin. Reading through the other photo groupies answers I though the ones saying the first was pizza were waaaaaaaaaaay off. And I didn't really have any idea on the second shot, but Ishould have guessed you'd sneak an antique in there knowing Mrs. FG's affinity for them. :)
