If you want to steal the idea and run with it, by all means go for it!

I feel like I'm still not getting the "perfect" macro shot idea yet, but some of these came out pretty well I think.

This is a margarita glass 1/2 full with water. Not sure of the camera details but here's a guess: Macro, F2.8, 1/30 sec exposure

This one I was using my grinding wheel to sharpen a tool. I believe the camera settings were: Macro, F2.8, 1/4 sec exposure

Obviously a coin... guessing at settings again: Macro, F2.8, 1/2 sec exposure

Screws...
Actual settings: Macro, F2.8, 1/2 sec exposure, 6mm focal length

Guitar strings...
Actual settings: Macro, F2.8, 1/2 sec exposure, 6mm focal length

ALL of these photos use these settings: Macro, F2.8, 1/10 sec, 6mm focal length

This was an extra system board I had lying around...

An extra CPU I had lying around...

Some actual C code on paper...

This is my debit card :D (name and numbers removed :9)

Matchbook, angle 1

Matchbook, angle 2

Rubber band ball :-)

Pencil...

Dice...

Hope you enjoy!

Edit: to include (14 shots) warning in title

3. You have 14
great would be entries. If I were to pick would be between the guitar, rubber band ball, picture 2, and matchbook 1. But they are all great. The CPU, board, coin, debit card and die would make great stock photos for businesses to use.

4. Thanks so much, very kind :-)
I may enter another photo "like" one of these hehe... just not these exact ones. I'm waiting it out, seeing if inspiration hits between now and probably tomorrow night.

8. Cool, thanks.
The rubber band ball came out WAY better than I thought it would. The lighting helped make every twisted band and crevice really stand out.

The glass was another surprise too... but I only liked the part I cropped out... the whole glass didn't look nearly as good.

The dice I assumed would make a good macro photo... I have a couple other dice photos that I like a little better .. I'm considering entering one of them :-)

9. Why don' t you like the "sparks" shot?

You've done a great job with lighting on all of these. The two (besides the sparks) that jumped out at me are the geetar and system board..... but I still like the screws. I don't know.. I see you have some dice.. maybe roll em.

10. Thanks :-)
I do like the sparks, I just think it makes a better action shot, and I don't consider macro a real action kinda genre. I will definitely try a few more like that shot now that its gotten wide appeal though :-)

With the motherboard pic, I changed the dull yellow color of the board to red using PSP and the channel mixer. And the guitar is one of my favorite shots... I have a bunch from the guitar. One of my favorite old photos was of the guitar and thats why I revisited those shots this time around.
