1. Welcome.
I think most of us use photobucket. You can store your pictures there and paste them into your posts by copying the URL.

We don't have many rules that I know of, except that, whenever possible, your pictures should be resized to fit a normal computer screen. I think the competitions suggest 800 pixels across in the longest direction.

As for other pertinent info...there's currently an open submission thread for this month's contest. The theme is "close-up/macro." Feel free to enter---just post your photo in the submission thread (it will be cut off at 30).

It did work. Taken mid-November 2005.

4. Thank you very, very much. I needed a break from politics and
mayhem. I've recently dusted off my old college hobby photography and also gotten into digital. LOVE IT! I spent an hour last night looking through the pix people have posted. There are some very talented people that post in this group. I suspect you are correct about this being the nicest group. I look forward to a long, rewarding relationship.

Again, thanks.

5. Welcome, Raster...
You'll like it here. As you say, it's a welcome reprieve from politics, but you still get to hang out with like-minded people.

6. That's how I got sucked into this place
Was suffering from a severe case of November 2004 burn out and found this little port in the storm. Now that you've figured out the hardest part..."how to post photos" it's all good. And I too am constantly blown away by the level of creativity and quality of photographs I see here.

If you hang for awhile I gaaaranteee you'll learn tons. You may have to skip over a few wacky posts and smart ass comments from certain people ;) but I've found the method of teaching/learning here to be far more enjoyable.

BTW: Love your shot. Very sharp, great color, and an excellent reflection grab.

Welcome
:hi:
