A "different" kind of flower break .....
Edited on Tue Feb-14-06 03:06 AM by F.Gordon
Tried out my new Lens Baby 2.0 this evening. These are a few flower snaps I took using the macro attachment. I could have gotten even closer but only used the 10x macro ring. Difficult lens to use but that's what makes it so fun. Have to shoot in manual and use the built in exposure meter to adjust the shutter speed.

Apertures are changed by installing rings in the lens. After you get all your settings correct you have to then play with the focus so it takes awhile to setup a snap. I still need to play with this a lot to get comfortable with it. Very challenging but I really like what this lens can do. These are all full frame (no crop) with no shoppin'.

Anyhoo... hope ya' enjoy a few of these.....
:hi:

I'm going to play with some people snaps the next couple of evenings. Took quite a few using "normal" lenses but only a couple with the Lens Baby. I just loved her smile...... think I need to use a smaller aperture for people snaps....

Edit: And yes she gave me permission to take her snap.

7. so it shoots things other than flowers too? :-)
Nice candid expression shot. Was this a crop of a larger photo? I was curious to know where the focal point was... looks like the aperture is tight with this lens!

btw is this Mrs. F.Gordon?

8. No. Not Ms F'
And no crop. No EXIF on this lens but I'm pretty sure I was using the f/8.0 aperture ring. Still has very tight "sweet spot". I was trying to focus on her mouth but I drifted off course. You focus the lens by moving it back and forth and then you can move it around to find your focal point. Very difficult. Takes the concept of "manual" to a whole new level.

9. sounds like too much work for me...
I'd say most of my best shots are on auto mode on my Kodak. Kodaks are known to be very simple to point and shoot... if it wasn't for this, I might not have gotten into photography the way I have.

By the way, I noticed you didn't make an entry this month?!? And it was YOUR idea?? lol

10. Yea. Missed the contest
Was waiting to see if it filled up. No biggie. Shared a few snaps of my own. Pretty awesome collection in the contest this month. The "voting" should be interesting.

Gotta' run.....

3. I really like #2
I like the way the ring of dark blue on the peddles fades into the darker background.

4. Is it just me, or
does the 8th photo look pornographic? No sex threads, please! :spank:

Georgia O'Keefe's got nuthin' on you, F.G.!

Seriously, I like the 5th one best. What kind of flower is that with all those orange tendrils? And where are you finding all these flowers in Denver in February, anyway?

5. No, it's just you
I don't see anything pornographic.

And who is Georgia O'Keefe? :+ K'... I deserved that. I'm trying to keep my immature smart ass comments to a minimum. But... it's hard work. ;)

Orange thingey?? If my memory is workin' the flower expert who walked with me said that was a Bird of Paradise. Where in Denver? Ask UTBS. He knows. I gave him an invite to stop down.

6. Looks like you're getting pretty good with the new lens
Number 2 has great color!

Number 4 has wonderful composition, although a little brighter colors would make it perfect.

Number 8 looks strangely like a bird? Can you see it???

All in all, a very nice set of photos! Good luck learning with the new lens.

11. These are very nice.
Looks like you are having fun learning the new lens and learning it fast. #8 is my favorite though must admit I saw the bird in it first though can see the porn side too.
