3. Thanks CC & JeffR - A wider view of the yellow sunset
In this earlier shot the patterns of reflections on the water caught my eye; a bit later the color in the sky became more intense and provoked the photo posted above.

4. Wow that is is breath taking too.
Love in it and the others that the colors in the sky are reflected in the water so vividly.

5. Our true mother - nature - creates some awesome
chances to appreciate what life means. Transitory, yes, but wonderful also if we have the chance just be in that moment, just for a moment, or maybe two. Photography gives me a chance to extend those moments, and maybe share them. I remember some documentary showing a bunch of chimpanzees perched on a mountain ridge facing a sunset. Just an accident, a coincidence, or an indication of some common heritage? Photos can help share that vision, and tell that truth, that truth about that one small moment, and maybe share it.

6. I love that last shot, but
Moving Riverbank is my favorite. It's downright eerie--I actually felt a bit of... not exactly vertigo, but a similar kind of feeling of movement. I felt it quite distinctly! But then, maybe it's just low blood sugar today. LOL.

Great photo, regardless. And I didn't know Lucy was kind of your step-dog! You are so lucky to get a two-fer relationship like that! :hi:

7. Here's a better version of that shot.
I forgot to sharpen the scan before posting the small version (did the whole set in a bit of a hurry) and on looking at the version here realized how blurry it was. There's always a loss of detail when reducing to a size useful on the web, but not that much.

Lucy's significant other (and mine) and I took notice of the 29th anniversary of our Justice of the Peace wedding ("I now pronounce you man and wife and whose baby is that?") on April Fool's day. A long relationship, with highs and lows, but the bond between her and Lucy is as strong and pure as can be imagined. Lucy is an absolute pacifist - will not fight even when attacked by either people or dogs - both have happened - but the one time I ever saw her show aggression was when Jenny was was working in a flower garden outside of my mother's nursing home room window. My mother's cat, for some reason, even though she is afraid of going outside, decided to assert territorial rights with the typical display of teeth and hissing. I saw the the tension mounting and had already grabbed Lucy's collar, but Lucy was (almost) immediately charging ahead to interpose herself between that aggressive cat and her SO. And on the other side, Lucy showed some sign of pain one morning this week (later assessed as maybe being due to snagging a toenail in the bedcovers) and was a bit gimpy on the morning walk. Jenny went to work, but worried so much that she took a bus home at midday to make sure Lucy was all right. Lucy was a street rescued pit bull found by a neighbor, and they bonded immediately and obviously intensely. And, even as a step-parent, and past owner of several dogs, I have to say that Lucy is genuinely exceptional. The only dog I ever felt was far "more than human." Buddha nature, and all that. The last photo's impact may be due to the fact that it gives a small hint of the bond between these two wonderful individuals.

Anyway, the revised pic:
