Tulip fields...at last! (DIAL-UP WARNING)
So, what do you do when tulip season is drawing to a close, and the last sunny day coming up is one where you have to be helping out on a film set starting at noon?

Simple...you drag yourself out of bed at 2:30 A.M., so you can be at Mt. Vernon by 5:30 and set up by 6:00, just in time to catch sunrise over the fields.

I should note that I was not the only one following the above plan. By the time the sun came up, half the photographers in western Washington were out there alongside me (most of them with much better equipment than I have). Here's a "behind the scenes" sample:

2. The other photographers may have better equipment
But I'd have a hard time believing any of them got better shots than you did. These are great.

I did some graphic design for the Lung Association last year, and would have killed to have access to some of these photographs for their Tulip Day event.

4. I'm so glad you finally got some good weather...
These photos are beautiful and make me really anxious for our tulips to finally get big and bloom. Sometimes it seems like winter lasts forever up here.

6. Dude. Those are fantastic
3,4,5, and 6 are my faves.

What kind of tripod is that in the last photo? I didn't know tripods could go so "spread eagle".
:dunce:

7. These are stunning.
3,4 and 5 are my favs, love the soft golden light around them. You are a much more dedicated photog than I to get up so early to get these and then work all day. But seeing these well worth the lack of sleep too. I might have to try to force myself to be up and coherent some morning to try some pics around here someday. You have inspired me to at least try.
