What I wish I could have captured in this shot was Anchorage hidden down there in the shadows in the middle of the photo, but it's really hard with such a dramatic contrast in the amount of light. Guess I'll have to learn how to do that layering thing in PaintShop. Those photos that people do like that are so spectacular.

Not that I've gotten great results with them personally. As the Preznit says, "It's hard work."
You certainly have some great raw material with these shots. Personally, I love them just as they are.

the first city lights of the evening show up, but they just get completely lost in the reduced picture. As for layers, I haven't tried ANY of that yet. I'm just kind of intimidated by the whole process, and don't have enough spare time to really sit down and figure it out. Maybe somebody here could give me the quick "Layers for Dummies" course.
