So..what about having a sticky atop the PG re: contest hosting guidelines?

We've discussed this is the past, but I'd like to discuss it again because of this post in the July Contest Rules and Guidelines thread.

I emailed elad pretty much what I wrote in the above referenced post, which includes links to past Photo Group discussions on the topic. I have not heard back from him.

Still, I'd like to revisit this idea as a group. I think my main concern is that the Photo Group gallery site is/was hosted by F.Gordon who does not seem to be around any more. As such, the guidelines that we all reference when hosting could disappear any day.

If we as a group decided upon a permanent sticky and contacted the admins about it as a group, they would probably post the sticky. (Rather than the request coming from one renegade group member.) So what say you all?

The Photo Group galleries aren't going anywhere. I think I have at least another 3 years setup on this. But I could fall off a cliff trying to get a snap of an Eagles nest, get shot for taking the "wrong" candid, or decide that Porn is where it's at :P and get banned for posting my snaps... so a Sticky would be nice.

Someone told me you're moving to Alabama or sumtin'? Bummer. Does that mean we'll never go snappin' together? Make sure utbs rents and watches the movie Deliverance before you go.

And who gives a crap where F.Gordon is? Where's like....(insert DU username here)????

Gotta' run. I've taken so many snaps the last couple of months I got em' coming out of my ass, and I have a crap load more to take this summer.

Just so you don't think I'm a total ass... here's my belated entry for last months contest. Not that it would have gotten more than 1 or 2 votes. I snapped this back in 1971. I don't remember anything else about it. I don't even remember who the hell this person was.

Thanks for your ringing endorsement of the sticky idea. :eyes: I would shed a tear in the case of the eagle's nest photo tragedy; not so much on the porn fetish. Still, it's good to know the Gallery is safe in an S.Hero's hands for the immediate future.

12. I didn't leave in a huff. I said I'd be back after the summer

But I was being pressured to stop in so I did. :) Just been really busy. I've taken close to 4,000 digies and shot about 20 rolls of film in the last 1 1/2 months. And I got a really important snaparoo coming up this Sunday. All my free time is spent working on all these friggin' snaps. It's waaaaaaay time consuming.

I promise I'll hang more often. I miss this place. Great "port in the storm"... and all that...

He never responded to my email. Hmm... I don't think I've pissed elad off in the past... :shrug:

I'm happy to do it, but I'm off on vacation for a week leaving tomorrow morning at 5am x( so I haven't the time to devote to it right now. When I come back, I'm packing and moving to Mississippi. So I can do it in two or three weeks.

Or someone else can do it. It's not like I'm a control freak. :P
