Ya'll have some beautiful pics posted
Edited on Thu Jul-13-06 02:53 AM by CC
the last few week or so. My internet has been iffy at best and not there at all mostly. When I do get online I open as many threads as I can so I can to read, keep up and see pictures. Hopefully it will be fixed Friday. But wanted to say, some beautiful mind saving pics have been posted in the last week or so. I'm not sure how long I will last online so leaving a group, "WOW great pic and photogs." Thanks for helping me keep my sanity while dealing with internet problems. No wonder I keep trying to get online and to DU.
I have been taking some pics while offline, though spent most of my time working on the house or the
wedding pics I did. So below is a bit of my way to keep from shooting the computer. All are with Nikon D200
ISO 100 Tokina 80mm-200mm pro lens (I read that one too bvar22)

Dawn flowers

200mm 1/60 f4

Early morning breakfast for...

200mm 1/20 f8

Early morning drink

200mm 1/60 f5.6

A bit later in the morning

200mm 1/80 f2.8

Second breakfast later in the morning.

200mm 1/250 f2.8
I finally timed him/her. The hummer hit the feeder about every 50 minutes.

The tease, I have tried to catch this guy a lot and he books fast soon as the camera is in position.

200mm 1/90 f2.8

Though all the above were taken through the kitchen window my only visable portal so far, AP in the brand new window the cats think we put in specially for them.

80mm 1/90 f2.8

Edited to add :hi: F.Gordon Welcome back.

1. CC, these are simply beautiful photographs
Edited on Thu Jul-13-06 10:42 AM by JeffR
The first one, no exaggeration, is one of the best flower studies I've ever seen. And the rest aren't far behind. You're right about the great shots posted this week, but I don't think this set takes a backseat to anything else posted.

Maybe this computer-deprived lifestyle thing is something I should try.

EDITED: Seems I'm already spelling-deprived...

2. Hi!
I love that mocking bird on the wrought iron. And the rest of them too.

Another D200 shooter! We could start our own forum on that camera by itself. I'm having serious lens lust issues. They aren't cheap.

Did someone say cheep?

8. Love that bird. We have a skittish

one that visit that I have yet to get more than a blur pic of. TY on the pics, the mocking bird is a character and fun to watch but usually won't wait for me to get the camera. I had the tripos set up trying to catch the hummer so was ready for once. The flowers were something to do while waiting for the hummers. I really need to start taking notes so I know when to wait around so I can catch bird pics.
Shhh on starting any sub-group on camera makes. I think group wise it is divided between Canon and Nikon with a few other brands scattered in. One of the good things on this photo group is there haven't been brand wars. I love my D200 but I know most here love their cameras whatever brand. I find the Nikon easier to use but that may be because I started on a film Nikon and many of the controls are in similar places with the digital. I have just ventured into pro lenses and I have to say the lens make more of a difference than the camera. So now will be less lenses bought and save longer for the pro here.

Edited to add, the Tokina is a used lens I picked up for a very good price at a pawn shop. I am going to make it a habit to check out the pawn shop whenever a "newer" digital comes out. Seems some people upgrade a lot and pawn the old. This place says there are a few people that can't decide between brands, just want to latest whatever.

3. Beautiful!
Especially like the 1st. Very pleasing colors and DoF. Love the lighting and the reflections in the small dew droplets. Very sharp
I always enjoy "Dawn" pictures because I see it so seldom myself. :)
I'll have to set an alarm and go outside some day.

Thanks for the data. I'm shopping for a lens in that category.
The Tokina looks very sharp, and your Kitty (AP?) looks content with the new perch.

11. Well, I've been thinking about it again today...
...so I guess I'm going to have to get with it. I'm such a procrastinator. I had this whole day with no work to do and just frittered it away lurking around on DU. I love this place, but sometimes it's a real time thief.

5. These really really suck
:hi:

Agree with Jeffr'... that first flower photo is awesome. But I hate flower photos so I still think it sucks.
