My morning walk.
It was one of those rare mornings. But most of the shots didn't turn out. Little things like a lens hood can make or break it. But still, I wanted to share a few things I see around here. It's one thing to zoom by on the way to the grocery store, and marvel and sigh when I see this old boat. It's another thing to walk down the road and set up the tripod and try and recapture that same feeling I get when my wandering eyes see the whole dynamic scene flash by.

Grasses on each side of the slough

The boat that's seen better days.

The slough at low tide. (I'll have to go back when it's high.)

There was an older lady gardening, and when I walked by her house, I was surprised by this.

Black moth.

1. Beautiful stuff
That black moth is amazing. I've never seen one. Did you get the story on the buoy?

No, I didn't get the story. But I was wondering. I'll go back for more shots. I'm not sure if it's how I took them, or sizing them for the web, but these shots don't stand out like they should.

Oh, the neat thing about this place (near Coos Bay, Oregon) is that even though it's inland, it's a salt water slough. These people can get to the ocean from their front yard.

2. What is a "Morning Walk"?
When you say "Morning" we're talkin' before Noon?

Excellent photos. You certainly had an eye-ful of beautiful images to keep up company on your "Walk Before Noon". I really like "The slough at low tide" but they are all very very nice.

5. None of these look as good on the web as on the monitor.
I probably have some learning to do.

But yes, it was 8am. I've been fairly ill for years. Migraines, or something. Maybe it's Bushitis. But this morning I actually felt like a real human.

At high tide, the place is absolutely wonderous.

Thanks. I love sharing this stuff.

7. Unfortunately the web
dumbs down good photos.

6. There's so many ways to look at everything.
I was restrained by a fence, or I would have tried another angle. I lost a ton of shots because it was directly into the sun. Oops.

When I was a child, I took incredible photos. I think we lose our artistic eye when we get older. We can get it back, but it's hard when you're focused on things like Bush. I love this forum, because we are already starting out with a similar common view of things.

Thanks.

9. Thanks!
It's exciting to find beauty.

I'm off to mow the pastures. Maybe I'll bring my camera. You never know what you may find.
