From Take-Off to Landing (pic heavy)
Hey all -

I had to return to the homestead, this past week, and finally did the geek thing I've been wanting to do everytime. Snapped through the window all trip long. These were taken with my Fujica ST801, Fujinon 1:1.4 lens. Nashville --> Albany 1600 speed film. Albany --> Nashville, 200.

First leg: Nashville to Baltimore -

That's Percy Priest Lake.

2. First one of these is really majestic
They're all terrific, for that matter.

5. Thanks
There's one of BWI - BNA shots that has Hallmark written all over it, but the colors of these were crazy beau.

3. Return - ALB to BWI
I love the color of the sky over upstate NY. It's such a deep, darkly intense blue that emphasizes we all hang in space.

Could Baltimore be more polluted?

(at least the crab cakes at Obrycki's were wonderful)

4. Coming Home - BWI - BNA
Back up!

Me like texture. Can't help but wonder how this would have looked with B & W film.

Did someone say 'porthole'? That's the Cumberland River on the right.

It's a dolphin!

And down we go ...

(thanks for allowing me to indulge myself)

8. I like the shot in between "portal" and "dolphin."
That's an amazing gradation of light! I also really love one JeffR called "majestic." The sky is endlessly fascinating in the colors it produces. I once saw green in a sunrise. Beautiful!

And... um... not geeky to take photos out the plane window.

11. That was eastern Colorado.
Flying into Denver International. There was no visibility, and sleet, snow and rain mixed to cover the windows for an hour. but just as we started our descent, the sky cleared suddenly. I love how clearly delineated the storm front is. (Or maybe that's the storm back, since I was flying east-to-west, and the storm was moving west-to-east.)

6. You got lucky.
I always get the window that has scratches all over it. What do they use to wash these planes? Wire brushes? :wtf:

7. Clouds are endlessly fascinating, aren't they?
At least they are to me. I take pictures of clouds all the time. Most of them I don't even keep around for very long, it's just a way for me to look at them, I guess.

10. Big Time
And I can never sleep in transit, so it's something to do besides read SkyMall and fantasize.
