Theme suggestions for August contest:
These are some of my suggestions. Post your own suggestions, and I'll put up a poll tomorrow.

1) Geometry.....Primary shapes and forms

2) Repeating Patterns

3) Motion....either motion blurs, stop action, or implied motion

4) After Dark

5) Anomoly...Sort of a What doesn't belong?, or How did THAT get there?

Is it really, really hot where you are?

Try this:

If I hadn't been saddled with all my camera gear, I would have joined her.

3. I'll end up voting for one of your ideas, but
since you raised the topic of heat waves, I'll throw this idea in the mix:

Cold Things

7. I like geometry
or repeating patters, which can be incredibly difficult trying to get a good composition with a repeating pattern.

9. Renovations in
CC's house with out killing SO. Justifiable homicide if one does get killed. BTW I am meaner so will live. I like all the suggestions so I am no help. Besides what I would really like is a kitchen already. Maybe old house building techniques, square pegs instead of nails and nothing else square? I keep repeating to myself, it will be worth it.

11. How about "Fermé Août" ??
By that, I mean the summer abandonment of the rat race and escape to an actitivy or place that feeds the spirit.

It's an impression I (obviously?) got while in France, when the whole country takes a month-long vacation and about 60% of the shops and businesses show the signage: "Closed in August". There's a kind of assertiveness to it. It's saying "It only makes sense if you agree that human beings are more important than 'business as usual.'" There's a fascinating 'adjustment' that the people make at this time, even shifting from their 'normal' year-long vocations into some vacance mode - lifeguardss, campground maintenance, whatever.

Just a suggestion.

12. I like them all but "anomoly."
I like the concept of anomoly, but fear it's too close to, and too soon after, the juxtaposition contest.
