Seafair - more non-July-4th fireworks...

Seafair, the annual Seattle festival culminating in the unlimited hydro Chevrolet Cup (think NASCAR on the water, minus the Southern accents), added a fireworks show to its events for the first time this year.

Since this was the first time, no one had any idea where to position themselves to cover the show best, especially without having to pay to get in the official race viewing area. As it turned out, this was a somewhat futile endeavor for, although the ads said the display would take place "over the racecourse," it appears it was actually positioned somewhat to the south, where anyone not in the paid-entrance area would have their view partially screened by a grove of tall firs. :grr: The third of the show that used the highest-flying rockets were fully in view; most of the rest would come to slightly more than half-way over the trees, and the remainder would be mostly below the trees, and hence mostly invisible to non-paying customers. Since we could see at least some of most of the display, and the fireworks themselves were quite nice, it was a fun show to watch, but not so much to photograph.

I got a few good shots, although you will notice the treeline in a number of them.
