4. Beautiful, Cons
Where was that taken? I think I agree with you on the cropping on mine (I haven't tried it yet) but was just in a hurry last night to get something up from our little road trip Monday and Tuesday. I'm working on some others that I will post later tonight.

5. Somewhere in or on the way to Glacier Bay on a small ship 3-day
cruise out of Juneau. Maybe 20 years ago or so. The shoreline was an expanse of gravel that had been carried out by the glacier and was being exposed by the retreat. Spent some time in Denali and on Kenai. A place to find truth. I wish everyone could experience it. While in Juneau we hiked up to Mendenhall Gacier:

6. Mendenhall is a beauty...
I've only been out there a couple of times, but both times the sun was shining (a rare thing in Juneau) and the glacier was gorgeous. I wish I had some photos of it to put in my "glacier" gallery, since I'm trying to get as many glacier shots as I can for posterity...maybe a vacation for next summer. I've never done a cruise in Southeast although many years ago when I first came up here to visit my parents, we took the ferry from Haines to Sitka.

Oh my god. The glacier was up to the back of the little hill on the left and almost to the waterfall on the right 15 years ago.

8. Here - check out Portage Glacier...
1950 - this is pretty much how the glacier looked when I first came up here in 1975

Here is one I took a couple of years ago.

13. It is very sad to see Portage Glacier so receded
My son and I stood at the edge of the lake right about where you took your photo. The glacier was breathtaking. My son even picked up a small chunk that had floated to the shoreline and immediately dropped it because it was so cold. That was in 1985.

So many beautiful wonders of the world are disappearing.

12. Restreating at 25 feet annually, according to the Park.
Probably old data and accelerating, but they're not allowed to say so.

Here's one that seems to moving forward.

3. I was joking to my brother
when I was in Montana recently: "Hey, next time I come up, let's go to Glacier National Park. You know, before they're all gone."

Not so much of a joke, when I read that the glaciers in the park may really be all gone in about 20 years.

9. Another beautiful shot.
I like the green in it though can see where it would work well without. You might have to post it both ways.

BTW I got that pic ordered and it is on its way. :bounce: Now to find a frame and mat to fit it.

10. I reduced the green by about half
in the one I posted in the gallery. I got the notice of your purchase, and thank you so much. By the way, I posted a bunch more pictures in the gallery, so keep checking back.

11. I have been going by
Edited on Fri Aug-11-06 12:54 AM by CC
to check it pretty much every night. So now you know I will know if you slack off for that day job you have. Haven't done my nightly look yet though. Had to watch Countdown again since at least Keith called BS on the timing today. My days are spent keeping Terry from losing it while working on the kitchen nook. We are so far behind from where we wanted to be by now on the whole project. Damn old houses always take longer. But it will be worth it, or so I keep telling myself.

Edited to add- I need more wall space dammit. At your page making a wish list. Hmmm wonder how Ter would feel about turning a room into an AK room.
