Can Glass have 'texture'?
I really want to put in a Chihuly glass photo I took last month in this contest. Do any of these say 'Texture' to you?

Purple Pod

Glass Fans

Green Pods

Crystal Spiral

Green Ball

Blue Cubes and Water

Purple Ball

Onions on Water

Sunrays

Boat Full of Glass

1. Green Pods and Blue Cubes
Green Pods because it "feels" as if there is texture.

Blue cubes because of the water and depth of the photo.

You know how much I love Chihuly!

2. I'm with Whoa_Nelly on this one.
I like Blue Cubes best because of the liquid, shifting water, the hard glass cubes, and the natural, pliable textures of the leaves in the background. Sunrays is also a good texture shot, imo.

3. Here's a closeup of the blue cubes

Do you think it's better?

4. I'd go with halfway between
Closer than the first so the surface texture of the blue cubes is more visible, but not as close as the last which cuts out the richness of the surroundings (not to mention parts of two of the cubes).

(I agree with this pick, btw)

6. Texture, yes.
I'd go with Glass Fans or Blue Cubes. I love the Sun Rays, but I think the other two say texture better.

7. I like "Glass Fans"
But you have waaaaaay too many good choices to pick from. Sorry, you're on your own on this one. Don't think you could go wrong with any of these. What a kewl series of photos.
:hi:

10. The purple pod is my favorite
Then the green pods
Then the onions on water (I love that ripple effect on the water -- all natural!)

Decisions, decisions!

11. Funny. I was considering Chihuly for this theme too.
But now I definitely won't do it.

Great shots though!

I love Chihuly!

12. Why not?
There's definitely room for more than one Chihuly in this contest! :)

14. Missouri Botanical Gardens in St. Louis, Mo
Formerly known as Shaw Gardens. I believe the Chihuly exhibit is going to be there until November. You can find out at www.chihuly.com

my mom wanted me to "pick up something" for her by Dale Chihuly, I laughed and said, how about a postcard -- mom are you nuts? (His stuff is probably REALLY expensive by now.)

Someday before I die, I want to blow some glass. :D

His stuff is just gorgeous.

16. Oh yeah, pick up some for me, too, will you???
The small bowls and plates that were on display in the gift shop were about $5,000! The large pieces had to be hundreds of thousands of dollars!
