1. Number 2, I think
Nice texture on the leaves and boards. The one in the evening isn't as sharp.

5. Thanks, Blue! You are always so good about helping me out
I am torn between the grapes and the birds. I like the birds for the contrast between spiky and soft. I just took the grapes photos a couple of days ago as an experiment for this contest.

2. I'm with Blue
Second one is terrific. It may need a slight curves adjustment, though.

4. Curves adjustment...?
Edited on Wed Aug-16-06 08:22 AM by Whoa_Nelly
as in adjusting the exposure curves? Or adjusting the color curves? Input appreciated...and thanks for checking out my choices :)

on edit:
Before reading your post, I had gone back to that photo and adjusted it a little...but I think it still needs something...
I may try a few more shots of the grapes this morning before the sun rises too high. These are actually in my backyard.

7. Exposure
Sorry, should have been clearer.
I think you were missing a little midtone detail. Looks like your adjustment did the trick. Then again, I don't trust my bifocal-assisted eyes...x(

3. Yep, the second one for the textures contest.
But for my personal favorite pick, I chose the 3rd one. I like the coloring and composition better. Plus I know how good grapes smell in the evenings! :9

6. Hi, intheflow!

I also like the grapes evening, not for the texture, but becaue I was surprised by the almost water color effect that happened. The photo was taken in early evening, sun still not set, but the grapes area of my yard was already in shadow.

Sure will be nice when I get a camera that will allow control of the shutter speed.
