4. So Inviting

(All taken a couple of weeks ago in F. Gordon's neck of the woods. Surprised none of them are blue...)

1. Mt driftwood
the colors are great and the eye really follows the flow of the bark.. it's a very neat effect.

though the shroom is adorable almost looks like it's wearing a shirt!.. It's a vibrant picture but I don't get a big texture feel to it.. just technically sound and it's a great shot btw. Nice lighting

but that's just my 3cents

double wow at Watching so I went with watching. I love So Inviting but not so much for texture as just a great shot. Why don't we get Alice through the Looking Glass looking shrooms here. I'm jealous.

4. That was somewhere near Allenspark, CO.
Haven't seen any like that one in Ohio. I had to travel ~1500 miles to find it :)

Thanks for the kind words. I put the mushroom in because it looks both velvety and wet to me - but then I was up close and in person so I may just be remembering how it looked in person.

5. I just photographed an amanita in my yard today...
They are beautiful but so deadly. My favorite of your photos is the mountain driftwood.

6. Thanks for the name
I spend a lot of time searching for flower names, and have gotten pretty good at identifying flowers, but I haven't gotten a routine down yet for mushrooms.

7. Amanita muscaria
to be precise. http://pluto.njcc.com/~ret/amanita/species/muscmusc.html It has psychedelic properties if it doesn't kill you.

8. F.Gordon? Outdoors? Nature?
:wtf:

Blue? :9

I had to go with "Under My Skin" because I walked right by that and completely missed it. It has an emotional significance to me. Too damn busy trying to setup a straightup snap under The Harry Potter Tree. I was out there tripping over Grizzly Bears and you were "seeing" everything around you.

These are all great. I still haven't picked up my film and I've barely looked at my digies. Too much goin' on right now.

This was taken at the beginning of the trail. Snapped it with my new little pocket camera while I was waiting for Ms. Toad and the other photogs. Was a great day... Ms. Toad is not only a photo-editor master but a damn good photographer. Very good. I had the unique opportunity to see her people pics which she can't post cause' of release issues. Awesome pics!!

I'll shut up. Here's my pocket camera snap showing where we started that day. I'll get the others up here in a week or two (or three)... I'm sure they won't be as nice as Ms. Toad's, but they'll be "F.Gordon-Outdoors-Nature". Enjoy them while you can before I drift off into my usual strange place.

9. Thanks.

Every once in a while I toy with the idea of expanding my equipment line (which at the moment consists of an Olympus C 4000 with its built in lens), but one advantage of only having one tool is that since I don't have many equipment details to sort out I have more time to spend "seeing."

I look forward to your version of the day.

I don't recall seeing any Grizzly Bears though.... and I thought you were just tripping over the edge of the trail (and down the mountain) and the rocks in the middle of the river (which I recall gave you some pretty cool flowing water shots).

(btw - your snap isn't showing up on my monitor - photobucket seems to be sleeping in today)
