1) Congratulations to all entrants.
This is the most competitive contest that I have seen in the Photography Group. We have space for one more entry. After that entry, I will have the administrator lock the thread. If there is 31st entry before I can lock the thread, that entry will not be posted in the Preliminary Polls since DU only allows 10 positions for "Poll Threads".

2)Some of the entries are over the size limitations for the DU contest.
The size limitations are 800 pixels on the longest side, and 200kb total size.
I have asked some of the contestants to resize their submissions to fit the guidelines and they have complied. In the interest of fairness, the size rules should be applied evenly to all.

You can check your submission by "right clicking" on your photo and selecting "properties" from the menu. The information box that is displayed will give you the size in pixels (length and width).
It will also give you the file size. If your entry exceeds 800 pixels in length or width, or exceeds 200kb in size, you will need to resize your photo.

I will be glad to help you with resizing if you are uncertain or lack the software for resizing.

3) Placement in the Preliminary Polls will be assigned by Random Number Sequence Generator.

Since GOPFighter seems to be missing in action I'd like to extend the first vote making you the permanent contest host. :crazy:

There are about 8 or so pics that are over the 200K thing. It doesn't bother me but I think people should realize that dialupers can grow old and die waiting for a contest pixie thread to load. Maybe that's why some prelim threads get more votes than others?

My only complaint is I thought ALL the titles for this months contest had to be in French.

8. For the Mac users out there

To check your photo size, drag the image from the browser to your desktop. Then from there do a "Get Info" to see the image size.

I just replaced mine. Was about 250K, already within the 800 pixel limit, so I just resaved it with higher JPEG compression. Now about 172K.

And BTW, I'm glad you're inforcing these limits.
