And now for something completely weird...
The third shot explains what this is. Other than getting caught in the rain and nearly hit by a car, it was worth biking down to the waterfront to see this. It's being dismantled tomorrow.

Wow. I guess if you're in Toronto, you're almost in Alaska, right? I always like to think of Alaska as part of Canada. It just seems more "right" somehow.

We longed to return to the USA all through the Clinton years. Six years into the neocon nightmare, we're feeling a bit smug that we had the foresight to be here.

That vantage point was the best way to appreciate the enormity of the thing. Beginning next year, this portion of the street will be permanently barred to cars. No word yet whether this assemblage will be re-constructed, but it's proved very popular in the weeks it's been up.
