A day on Pearl Street Mall
I took these a couple of weeks ago at Pearl Street Mall in Boulder. They were having a Pacific-Asia festival there, lots of booths and activities and people.

Street Musicians

Balloon Man

Homeless

Kids

Korean Woman

1. Nice...
I like these kinds of events where people mingle and have a good time.

2. Great street photography
:applause:

I'm always extremely nervous about takin' snaps of children, so I don't. You don't have anyone approach you or ask why you are photographing the children? Maybe women can get away with this more than men. Plus, I have that scary ol' fart look so I just avoid the potential for a confrontation.

I really like 3,4, and 7. And I love any photo with a nice smile in it.... the last one. But.. all good. Thanks for sharin'.
:hi:

3. Photographing Kids
I haven't had any problems. Of course, I try to be as unobtrusive as possible. I stand off to the side and use a zoom whenever I am taking photos of people in public. The only exceptions are the street musicians -- I usually put $1 in their box/can/whatever and ask if they mind if I take a few photos. They usually say they don't mind.

Of course, I'm a fluffy, motherly type, so I'm not too threatening to the moms and dads, either. :)

I oould use a telephoto but then I have this vision of being rushed to the ER to have a very long Telephoto lens removed from my ass.

5. If that homeless man doesn't hit you in the gut
Says alot about the state of America today, that we cannot help people in these types of situations, they are left to beg or fend for themselves. Very sad.

6. And most people were ignoring him...
it is so sad. I think the minivan driving by in the background, oblivious to his plight, makes it even a more thought-evoking photo.

I always give the homeless in Boulder what I can. You've got to really be desperate to be homeless in Colorado, especially during the winter.
