Thanks, I am trying to learn from these before I go out to shoot again next week.
The last two are easiest to read as traditional 3d images. The first few have shadow and highlight detail but they are very flat. I was more interested in line, texture and color when I shot them. I am not sure that was a bad thing. The much higher contrast ratio of traditional film might have done a better job breathing life into them.

I have quite a collection of similar shots myself dating back decades - not one of them as good as yours. Well done.

Thanks, I have been photographing trees for a many years too. I took these pictures last Wednesday. This is my second trip out with my new Nikon D80 and am having a lot of fun with it.

But 1st, 4th, and 5th are my favorites. Lots of drama in those branches.
I've been on a tree thing lately seeing as how it's peak foilage up here in New England. I hope to get some up today. But we've got a sunny day and I'll probablly be going out after my coffee before it get too bright. I'm going this evening too.
