My Vermont trip was kind of a bust, so I'm going to Malta instead

Seriously. The trees were just uncooperative. Higher elevations had some pockets of color, but I think the trees got fried by heat this past summer, and some just did not recover. Total bummer of a trip. Now in PA, the maples are vibrant. Go figure?? Next year I am timing it for first week of October to arrive.

Anyhow, bubba and I are going to Malta (between Tunisia, Libya and Sicily in the Mediterranean Sea) from 10/21-10/28. Won't get tree pics, but undoubtedly some gorgeous scenery and fantastic architecture and people shots. :)

Fall here was also disappointing. There were colors, but not near as vibrant as last year.
Most of the Maples went yellow and then brown without that wonderful red, orange, yellow, green all at the same time stage (like the beautiful one in your pic).

2. It's all Bush's fault...!

Seriously, global warming is messing up the climate. Up here, we had the driest summer in history. Dry summers = early autumns, without spectacular foliage.
