It's a small world story --- Yes I know who Sally Mann is :)
I am doing a software contract on a railroad in Roanoke Va. Great place for to take photos but that is besides the point. One of my cube rat's wife has given up her day job and is doing good as a professional photographer. So we are always talking cameras and things :) Another is one of my team members (Randy) and has told me places to go for taking good photos. About a month ago, Randy said I really needed to go to Lexington Va and see some of the Civil War homes there. Not being a Civil War nut, I went and posted a couple pictures on here under my Dumb Horsey pic thread http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=280&topic_id=19640

Anyway, a couple weeks ago Randy asked me if I had ever heard of the photographer named Sally Mann, and I said yes I knew about her and all the uproar her books of her nude children caused in the 80s. It turns out Randy's father in law is a professional photographer in Lexington and is retiring. He has sold his business to Sally Mann. Ms Mann likes the digital work one of the people working for the FIL does and she brought the business so that she could get help in the digital age. There was more to it than that but that was a major reason. The 80s pictures of her kids were done on her farm in the Lexington area.

It is a small world.......
