!!! IMPORTANT CONTEST NOTE (PLEASE READ) !!! |
|
Since it seems that the consensus of members is to allow changes or substitutions to an already-made entry, I'm announcing "Open Season"...until 6:00 this (Wednesday) evening Pacific Time, anyone who wishes to change or modify their entry is welcome to do so. I only ask that you don't change the original submitted image wherever you have it stored, but put up a second image and post it as a reply to your original submission. This is so that I can keep track of which is which, and not mess up any of the preliminary polls.
(I should add that, in the unlikely event that the "can substitutions be allowed" poll changes dramatically by then, so that the "no" answer wins out, I'll go with your originally-submitted image instead. But I would guess the likelihood of that happening is about the same as George W. Bush announcing tomorrow that he has become a politically-progressive Unitarian. ;-) )

for reasons I just posted on in the other thread. There is no way you should be forced into this position.

5. Look at it this way... |
|
...if he were to become a Unitarian, it would mean that he had become someone very different than the George W. Bush we all know and...know.

The UU have no creed or dogma, but do have principles. One of our principles is that "we... promote the right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large." I think he would become a UU just to figure out a way to undermine this principle. Oh, wait--he couldn't figure that out by himslf. He'd have to join with Cheney. :puke:

7. Reminding me of the old Mad Magazine from 1970... |
|
...which had a mock children's "primer" on religion in America. One passage went something like this:
Quakers don't believe in war. There are one million Quakers in America. Richard Nixon is a Quaker. Make that 999,999!
