Thanksgiving Photo Dump
I've tried all week to wrte some witty narrative about Bear's great Thanksgiving, but I'm just too darn overworked this week to be witty. So here are some of my favorite photos with captions, only.

1. Very nice, ITF.
The puppies look like they're having a great time (and the people, too, of course).

3. I feel like I have to explain the 6 dog photo.
We (me, my son and his girlfriend) took our dogs (Bear, Pete, and George the St. Bernard) out for a hike. As we were finishing up, we turned back in to the field where we had parked the car and saw a woman with two St. Bernards and a slightly smaller, tan dog. So it was like looking at some weird mirror with two George's and another Pete! Very strange coincidence. We really wished we had met the woman with the dogs before the hike so the dogs could have played together longer--especailly Bear. He had been frustrated and bratty through our whole hike because Pete was too old to keep up with him and George had a sore foot. In the other dog party were two dogs Bear's age, and I'm sure they would have given him a much better run for his money.

Not that he realy looked like he suffered much. :)

4. Couple pics from my Thanksgiving Day :)
I spent the week aboard the Seabourn Pride. On Thanksgiving we docked in St. Vincent.

St. Vincent is/was one of the major shooting locations for the three Pirates of the Caribbean films

I became the Coffin Photographer, couples loved to stand in the coffins and hold hands. I used their cameras to take their pictures. All in all I took 6 sets of pictures... :)

6. That coffins pic would have been a great entry for the "Portals" contest
:)

8. Cool!
But I have to hide this thread from my SO. He's such a Pirates fan that he will insist on us going on this cruise next year, and quite honestly, we can't afford it.

I really love the coffin shot! What's up with them, just standing there? Is it a historical park?

9. Petey was my dog when my son was young.
Edited on Wed Dec-06-06 12:49 PM by intheflow
Now that my son is an adult, he's taken full responsibility of Pete, so both live in Massachusetts. The last shot, "Brothers," is Bear and Pete, meeting each other for the first time. Seeing Pete (age 11) next to Bear (age 1.5) was really kind of a shock to me, because my little Petey's gotten so old! But you can see he's a happy guy, and even though he's had two knee replacements, he could keep up with Bear. At least on short spurts through tall grass. :)

14. We should all age as gracefully as Pete
Looks like he's got a lot of life ahead of him.

16. Pete is almost indestructable.
He's had two knee replacments, cancer, and been hit by a car. I'm a little worried that he'll go down fast in the next year. My son's taken a job in Boston and Pete will probably stay at Grandma's house when he moves. I mean, a tiny Boston apartment is no place for a big country dog like Pete, but I'm afraid he'll pine away missing his boy.

10. You think?
I didn't know who Allison Janney was until you posted this, but from the photos I found of her online, I don't see the resemblance.

12. I see a very strong resemblance ... CJ Cregg of West Wing.
Edited on Wed Dec-06-06 01:32 PM by TahitiNut
The neighbor's wife in American Beauty. I could easily accept that photo as Allison Janney.

Since she's your friend, you probably see the photo and overlay it with far more deeply embedded images based on your familiarity with her. Lacking any such overlays, I see CJ Cregg.

17. I can see it with the American Beauty role.
Not that my friend is tragic in any way, but I can certainly see it now that you mention that role. I don't watch much network TV, so have never seen West Wing.

11. Is that "person with my same real name".....his girlfriend?
I spaced out bringing camera on T-Day. Not that I would have gotten any snaps worth posting.

And I was going to ask you if Mississippi had rolling hills and falling leaves.... but I figured it out.
:dunce:

15. Ummm..
What? What is the title of your post referring to? Who's girlfriend?

Actuall, Mississippi does have rolling hills... about an hour north of here. And yes, the leaves fall, but they don't generally turn pretty colors first. Occasionally there'll be a sugar maple with bright red leaves, but they all just turned last week.
