Portraits of my Cat Family...
Edited on Sat Dec-02-06 03:46 AM by Blue_In_AK
The mama, Julie

Her son, Punkie (short for Pumpkin, his original name)

And his very lovely sister, Sugar

Julie was rescued from a crack house and brought into our home about 13 years ago when she was only about five weeks old, and Punkie and Sugar were born a year later, just the two of them. I couldn't bear to split the set, so the little family stayed together. Over the years, Julie and Punkie have developed hip dysplasia or something that has really weakened their hind ends. It pains me to watch them walk, and I know I should probably put them out of their misery, but it's hard when they've been a part of the family for so long.

2. You've got a Pumpkin, too!
You may recall ours from A Girl and her Cat.

His actual name is The Great Pumpkin, which enables people to figure out a) size, b) color, and c) time of year he showed up looking for a home.

And Sugar looks quite a bit like a couple of superconnected's cats.

3. Oh Reg, your ginger boy is just gorgeous....
He's a 'manly' guy! The Demon is a willo'wisp, he only weighs 12 lbs., and he is small boned. But for all his tiny-ness, he makes it up with purrsonality.

4. I'm going to make a tryptych
or however the hell you spell that for my youngest daughter for Christmas using these pictures of Punkie and Julie and another one of Sugar that's the same dimensions. Julie was originally Melissa's kitty, but she didn't want to separate the family and couldn't take all three when she moved out on her own a couple of years ago. I think she'll really like that, and it will be good memories for her if/when I can finally overcome my resistance to putting Julie and Punkie out of their misery. Melissa knows the end is near and she's okay with it ... it's just harder for me than I ever thought it would be.
