4. These things always unfold the same way
They enjoy their patch of sun until it shifts enough so that one of them moves. Then comes the hissing and the sound of beagle paws in quick retreat. These three are so predictable I'd swear they're Republicans...

5. The cats have had 12 years together.
The dog's been here since '02. The detente is always fragile. Our other dog's too wise to get involved in these volatile foreign relations. He stays at least one room distant from the rest of them.

Especially if we give away a cat or two.

15. That's terrific!!
The worst chaos in this house is trying to direct pet traffic at meal time. Maybe a greenhouse is the answer!

12. Yes, she has lived up to it.

She was the kitten that cost me $100 for a tree climber to get her out of a tree in my back yard. Then she climbed up it and got stuck in it the next night, and the next, and the next, and 3months later, she was still getting stuck in it and I was having to get her down.

She finally got tired of getting stuck in the tree around Christmas last year. She has a loud Siamese howl for a Tortie and won't quit her desperate howling until she is rescued. Luckily she always got stuck in the same tree so I always knew where she had to be rescued from.
