I played a bit with these pics
I took them last weekend when I visited 48%er in Munich.

I put in both the original and the changed one. What do you think?

1. I don't see a whole lot of difference in the first two...
...just some warming, I guess? But that second one is awesome. How did you do that?

2. The first
I tried to get the house a bit sharper.

I used a program called Picasa (by Google). 48%er told me about it. It is a photoshop and organizing program in one. it is fun to play with it

3. Be careful, it is also a HUGE virus hole
to your computer, if it is not caged.

7. What do you mean by caged?
I am not using it to publish my pictures on a webpage, neither do I use it to email pictures. I just use it as folder and photoshop.

11. just make sure it can't access the internet
by itself.

I am not sure about the current version, since I banished it from my life a while ago, but the previous versions liked to "phone home" without my permission and that is always an open doorway for digital illnesses.

8. Please explain, I use it too, but only to
organize my photos on my big machine. What does one make it a virus hole? Eeek!

5. I agree.
The second piece is great! She even kept shadows in place. A very nice effect, one I wouldn't even have thought of, much less been able to execute.

Good one, MHc!

10. I meant that from the other comments made
... a "WOW!" wouldn't come as a complete surprise. I didn't mean to imply that you fully expected a "WOW!" to come from posting that photo.
:hi:

14. Okay, now I understand
skating bears... and why they are on their skis backwards. Great photo and I like what you did to it.

should have picked a pic with the skating kids, huh? But I took the pic I entered with 48%er's camera, otherwise I couldn't have entered the contest (I just got my pictures developed Wednesday).

Thanks.

17. I like everything you did to them except the color ...
... but that may certainly be my monitor. The sky in the first looks more like the kind of deep blue sky I see on a clear winter's day ... and seems greenish and flat in the sharpened version. The flesh tones and fabrics in the second seem more natural and appear pale and grayed in the sharpened/transparent version.

I really think the second (last) is quite a remarkable photo ... particularly with the transparent/white background but keeping the shadow immediately beneath the people. I also very much like their body language - it seems to convey a relationship that's quite healthy. Bravo.
