A few of my photos

This was taken with a Coken sunset filter. The starburst effect is a natural result of the tree breaking up the sun.

This is an unfiltered closeup photo of newly formed ice in a pond. Very abstract.

This one used a Coken dreams filter. The key to making the dreams filter work is to have a light object against a dark background and play with the f-stop until you get the effect you want.

2. I really like the second one. All three are great, but
that second one is the one that stays with me.

3. I like them...
There's sort of a soothing surrealness to them. Easy on the eye, but something haunting...almost poetic...awesome compositional work there too.

6. All of my filters are Cokin filters and they are available at Wolfe Camera
They should be available at most photo equipment stores. I've got about 30 filters but haven't used my film camera in a while. I bought a digital camera and a camcorder about 2 years ago so most of my stuff is digital now.

Occasionally I'll get a bug up my ass and break out my film camera because I can play with exposure and filters or I can use a different kind of film. If I had more time I'd use it more often.

My camera of choice is a 20 year old Pentax K-1000. It's entirely manual so I have total control over what I get. I've never really liked the auto cameras. The bad side is I end up with a lot of crap but occasionally I do get a good photo.

7. Agreed
Automatic frustrates me too because I have absolutely NO control over the exposure, f-stop, anything. :(

Me too. I have an old all manual camera too, but I like it pretty well. The only problem I have with manual is taking pictures of kids which I do a lot of. At those times I would love auto-focus- I just can't do it fast enough to get many good shots. :(
