Does anybody here knit sweaters out of cat hair?
I love, love, love my new vacuum cleaner. I'm really not a terrible housekeeper - really - but I emptied four canisters of cat hair this morning using my new Dyson around the old homestead. Unbelievable!

This is almost as cool as the new lens. :)

2. Ha -- good idea.
Honestly, I could not believe the amount of fur this house was wearing. No wonder it stays so warm in here in the wintertime.

3. What is a dyson? A vacuum, or a robot like a roomba?
If it's a robot, does it do rugs AND wood/tile floors? And I wonder if it'd like dust as much as hair?

5. It's a bagless vacuum...
The one I got is called "The Animal," made especially for picking up pet hair, but it does a great job on the dust, as well. You can use it on hardwood and tile, too ... just turn off the beater bar. It REALLY SUCKS.

8. But do you push it, and what are you emptying if it's bagless?
Or do you mean 'bagless' as in no replacement bags?

9. It has a canister...
When it fills up to a certain point, you remove the canister, hold it over a trash can, push a button, the bottom opens up, and all the dirt and hair falls out. It's really quite fabulous. I'm sure you've seen the guy's commercials on TV.

Here's the info

11. I hear you, we have to vacuum every 3 days
my two lovely critters shed like lunatics. Mainly on the places where people sit, like the couch and the chair. So when you sit down, voila! Instant cat hair magnet.

We have a wonderful Miele HEPA vacuum that does the job nicely too, and it keep the dander from swirling in the air. Miele is another great choice for people with hairy pets. :)

12. Sounds like a great vacuum

but may I suggest Linatone for all your furbabies. Works wonders to slow down shedding and makes their fur shine. All mine think of it as the heavenly treat they would do anything for. It is great on ferret bellies. While they are busy licking away to get it all I can trim their nails. Now if it would only work as well on the cats for nail trimming.

You must use the Dyson again in a few days and post pics. Could be a neat abstract in there.

13. this past year
one of my clients installed new carpeting. The carpet people wouldn't guarantee the carpet if you used a Dyson. Apparently the Dyson has such outrageous suction that it frizzes the carpet.

14. That's funny...
The directions specifically say not to use the beater bar on berber (but I did anyway, just to be sure I knocked out all the pet hair). So far, the carpet's still intact, but it did lift the 9x12 area rugs a couple inches off the floor.
