1. Ice storms are so

beautiful and so deadly. I remember how spectacular it was to wake up and see the trees covered with ice, all sparkling and dramatic. BUt then we'd have to deal with downed power lines and loss of crops.

2. The cactus will do OK. They've been through worse. Prickly Pear is

native to Kentucky. It grows in New Jersey and Minnesota too. I saw some at Kitty Hawk.

4. Thank you. The melting ice on the top one really looks like it was

manipulted, but all that was used was the standard filters like curves, unsharp mask, brightness.


I used GIMP on these images. I don't have access to Photoshop anymore.
