The pic was taken on the central Florida gulf coast on New Year's Day.

We had an arctic front swoop down on us and this was the leading edge. So of course, my husband and I decided to go check out the beach. :crazy:

The beach was almost deserted, the light insanely gorgeous and, unlike Cheney, (~snort~) I got lucky with my bird shot.

I felt so bad for those little shore birds. They just stood there hunkered down with their eyes shut against the cold wind and the sand whipping around them. Thought maybe I should have called it 'deception' since it is sand, not snow swirling around, but a very wise and exceptional photographer here said something along the lines of, "Let it be. In photography, perception is reality.".

Thanks, again. I'm still stunned by the response it received.
