A half-dozen late winter souvenirs
No time for taking pics recently, and the weather has been crap anyway (though crap in an early spring kind of way). Here are some shots from the last few weeks that I finally got a chance to sit down and post-process last night.

I'm not a huge fan of blurry photos, but I kind of like this one. Shot from the front car of a subway train pulling into a station:

Another one from a subway car, going much slower:

Lens flare is a big concern with the Tokina 12-24mm. In this case, it gave me something that reminded me of Paul on the road to Damascus, so I didn't pitch it:

Plywood in an alley not far from our 'hood. I liked the patterns:

Porte-cochre at the Ontario Legislature (1905, IIRC):

My friend Don (an impromptu opportunity to try out the "thrifty fifty" as a portrait lens):

And another jam-packed week of freelance fun coming up! I have to say I really miss you guys. It's been tough to find the time to even drop in here and browse much. Hope everyone's well, and thank you all for keeping this group as a place to share thoughts and images, far from the madding crowd.
See y'all on Wednesday, if I'm lucky.

1. Great series
I admire photographers that turn the ordinary into visual art, your plywood pic for example. The portrait of your friend is very well done too. Staying busy with work can't be all bad. Take it easy.

2. Thanks, Maestro!
There's a ton of ordinary in this part of the city. Carrying a camera around helps me realize that's there's more to it than what I might think.

And you're right, busy is good. As a freelancer, busy is what I pray for. Things have been almost out of hand the past few weeks, but I'll surely be mourning these weeks the next time I go for a week or more with nothing on the horizon. The only thing I miss about the bad old corporate days is the steady paycheck. At times like this, I don't even miss that. so it's all good.
