11. No kiddin' Blue...
It usually does this at the begining of the Spring/Summer season...it will probably give us a cool/moist spell before the real summer heat sets in with a vengeance...

13. I guess I never paid attention when I lived down there
Edited on Tue Apr-15-08 12:46 AM by Blue_In_AK
because I was always on the Coast except for a brief stay in Forbestown, which may have been a bit cooler since there was some elevation. It's just hard for me to imagine those kinds of temperatures in April when it's still mid-30s in Anchorage, and we think it's a warm day when it gets up to 45 this time of year.

But our summers are lovely, in the 65-75 range, perfect temperature. It just takes so l-o-o-o-o-n-g to get here.

14. I remember you saying that you had lived in The City...
yeah, the weather at the coast can actually be kinda' unpleasant during the Summer...tends to get foggy and cool at times.

Like Mark Twain said: "The coldest Winter I ever spent was a Summer in San Francisco" or something like that...I have a gut feeling here that I misquoted him... :dunce:

15. Yes, I was in San Francisco from 1969-1971,
then moved to Bolinas until 1974, then Forbestown for a year, then here ever since. When I lived in Bolinas it always seemed to clear up about 4:00 in the afternoon, just before the sun went down. I loved it there, though. Great little town. We went back there for a visit about three years ago, the first time I'd been back since I left. It hadn't changed much, some of my old friends were still there, and I was happy to see that the locals were still taking down the "Bolinas that way" sign out on Highway 1. You can't find it unless you know it's there. Kind of like Brigadoon.

16. Oh, the Bolinas sign...!
Every once in awhile the Chronicle runs an article on that.

My landlady, when I first came home from the Army, ran the Bolinas Inn for many years; she moved to Napa after her husband died...can't think of her name, offhand...it will come to me about 2:00 a.m. :D

18. ARGHHHHHH
I got caught in that trap when I was there in OCT visiting dd. The sign was missing. Ended up in Point P- had a great lunch there!- and backtracked...
(At least I think I am talking about the same place. HWY 1 TOTALLY FREAKED me out and I was apoplectic in the back seat for a good bit of that trip.)

19. Next time...
If you're coming from San Francisco, keep your eye out for a little road on the left just a couple of miles past Stinson Beach. You'll see the Bolinas Lagoon by the side of the road, and then you take the first left you see. If you get to Point Reyes, you've gone too far.

5. He is really yawning.
He is too sweet to snarl at anyone but he does like his food. He is on a diet so he isn't into sharing much anymore. :hi:

Here is his normal look.

Probably doing the same kitty mind thing yours was doing. Thinking hard at you that you will give him food or whatever else he wishes his human to do.

7. Quite a handsome cat, CC...
reminds me of the cat I grew up with. Stonewall Jackson was 1/2 Calico and 1/2 Siamese...and mean...I walked around with scratches on my arms for years. It didn't help that he weighed 19 pounds...

21. Wow are our cats related?
I just had to make a special tip into town because my can opener broke the other day. I forgot to get one yesterday and couldn't open another can to give them their full ration today. They were NOT happy.
