Sophie and Saschi, best friends forever
My brother's dog Saschi and the new Ragdoll kittie Sophie really enjoy each other's company.

2. Their closeness is self-evident.
That's a very, very good shot.

3. Nice shot, and they look so sweet together.
I like the composition and the lighting...very nice! Beautiful furpals, both.

I wish my guys were more tolerant and gentle with my kitty. They like him too much. My cat finds their attentions annoying (and slobbery), and when all three of them get going, he gets scared. They "play" too rough, and when the three of them are together, there's a pack mentality that seems to kick in, and he heads for high ground.

6. Awww, cuteness alert. What kind of dog is Saschi?
Part Siberian husky? Friends had a dog in the late 70s that looked just like him/her? Her name was Danya, she was all orange/red with a beautiful curled, bushy tail. Sadly she crossed the bridge about 3 years after we all left Tucson, she was only about 7, had a brain tumor.

7. She's a purebred something or other
that's not any part husky, but I can't remember what the breed is. Something Japanese. My brother also has a male of this breed, who is smaller, but somewhat stockier, and a creamy white. His name is Mika and he does NOT play nice with the kitty, so during the day he has to stay outside. At night when the kitten goes to bed with my niece, Mika can come in and hang out with Saschi.

After a little research, I believe these dogs may be Shiba inus.

8. Could be.
They are nice dogs. Now I wonder if our friends dog could have been a cross? I googled siberian husky and she looked nothing like them at all. She was all red with a curled tail (like the AKC page you linked) and she had brown golden eyes, she wasn't a big dog either. But I do believe she was a mutt. :)
