Summer (such as it is) in Anchorage
Edited on Mon Jul-28-08 11:33 PM by Blue_In_AK
This is what qualifies as a "good day" this summer. At least it's green.

A Zen moment

The geese have taken over Westchester Lagoon.

2. Looks like a German summer
:eyes: We have sun at the moment, but you never know when weeks of clouds will roll in. They back up on the Alps and hang for days, wringing themselves out in the process. :(

3. It's disappointing after waiting through a winter
like the one we had last year that lasted a month longer than it should have, and then this is our reward. Now I'm almost looking forward to fall and the return of the snow.

I do see a tiny bit of blue sky this morning, so hopefully we can catch a couple of king salmon tomorrow without getting drenched. If it's not raining this afternoon we're going to camp tonight, but otherwise we'll be driving down to the Kasilof about 3:00 a.m. so we can be on the river with our guide by 5:30.

5. Be thankful for the salmon
We don't even have that. We had a few days of sun, but it's rainy again today.

Look forward to the pics.

4. Remarkably...
almost simultaneous with the announcement of Ted Stevens' indictment, the sun burst forth and we are now enjoying a beautiful blue-sky Alaska summer day. There is a god. :)
