Experimenting with extension tubes . . .
Edited on Fri Sep-12-08 03:11 PM by ET Awful
So first, let me say that the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 is one hell of a good chunk of glass for only $350.

Second, when paired with some Kenko extention tubes, it's a pretty decent macro lens as well:

Here's a full shot reduced for the web

Here's a 50% crop

I'd post the 100% crop, but it gets a little too close and abstract looking at that point (it also gets a tad fuzzier :P)

Forgive the composition, that was just me sitting at my desk fooling around :P

1. So these are your September contest entries.

:P

I really like the second crop. The detail is amazing! I'd really like to see the 100% crop. I can see how it would get abstract, but that's what makes makes me want to see it. :)

I may use this one, but then again, I may go to the "Butterfly Place" in Westford, MA tomorrow and see what kind of shots I can get there.

And, since you asked, here's a 100% crop:

I'm not positive that's from the same shot though, just the same series of 5 or 6 shots.
