1. I particularly like the last one
love the colors...kind of like an impressionist painting.

2. It was incredibly beautiful up there.
These caribou and the moose family were seen on the Denali Highway, which is 135 miles of dirt and gravel road that runs between the Parks Highway and the Glenn Highway, the only two paved highways that run north out of Anchorage (both end up in Fairbanks). It took us about 7 hours to get across, but it was well worth it. I haven't had a chance to get through all my photos yet, but I have some really nice shots of the fall color that I'll post later.

4. Gorgeous
I love the red tones among the Caribou and what I would give to be able to photograph grizzlies!

5. We were lucky with the grizzly.
Earlier we had seen one way off on the hillside, much too far away for a good shot with my limited equipment, but then we rolled up on this one crossing the road ahead of us with her cub in tow. Of course, everybody else was stopped along the side of the road in front of us, probably 10 or 15 cars, and we didn't want to get to the back of the line, so we just drove by slowly and I got the shots out my window. The rangers won't let you get out of your car if the animal is within 50 feet (as this one was) -- not that I would have anyway -- so this was the best I could do. I wish the mother had looked up, but she was very intent on digging something out of the ground.
