1. Hey, 48%er ... is that the Jardin des Tulleries along the Rue de Rivoli?
It's been many years since I was there so I'm trying a "refresh" ... how far wrong am I?

Lovely photo of Paris ... captures the pedestrian heart of the city.

4. Oui!
It's just after you get outside of the Louvre heading towards the Champs Elysee.

What spectacular weather we had!

5. Ahhh... thanks! Images of Paris are engraved on my brain and heart ....
Edited on Mon Nov-03-08 09:33 AM by TahitiNut
... but it's good to know they're still intact. I think it's wonderful when the weather is warm and all to people get out and enuoy it, whether in the Bois de Bologne or one of the many boules courts or neighborhood parks or along the Seine or the Tulleries. It's such a special city ... like magic.

I remember attending a performance of the Paris Ballet Company (Sleeping Beauty) in the Couer Carre d'Louvre (courtyard of the Louvre) one warm spring evening, second row aisle seats. It was magical. It was the first time I'd ever attended 'real' ballet ... and I have to think it was nearly the best possible. I could only raise my target to the Bolshoi. I love the Tulleries ... and the Jeu d'Paume when I was there still held the impressionists. Fabulous.

(sigh) It's a wonderful photo. It really captures the ambiance.

7. Hmm, this is a tough subject for us in Texas
At least in Austin, it never really looks like autumn very much. We only have a few trees that change color. The majority of hardwoods in this area is a species called "live oak" which keeps its leaves all winter, then drops them and immediately regrows them in the spring. Weird.

19. I'm just being a pest
...I never heard the word until I moved near a mesa-top community, where the lots on the "escarpment" cost twice as much. It's the edge, where you have the view. :)

21. Yes, the mountain has to have a flat top,
like those mesas and plateaus in Colorado.

14. Well, Tree of Fire seemed to be getting the most support...
not only here but with my non-DU, non-photographer friends, so that's the one.

I'm amazed how competitive I'm feeling about these contests; and I'm not normally a really competitive person. Even my design business never got me going in quite this way.
