1. Wow Mr. Phinn has bulked up for the winter...
Who is the newcomer again (sorry I forgot her name)? How are they getting along? Tentatively?

2. You are right!
We used to call him Skinneas. Not anymore...he is MASSIVE!
The Newbie, Nina, is utterly fearless and driving them all out of their minds. Espescially the jack russell- she is bearing the brunt of the upbringing. Will have to capture one of THOSE moments soon!

I opened that screen door to the greenhouse today- time to mix it up a bit.......

3. Hey, what kind of chickens do you have
those precious, beautiful golden-rust colored ones? Can you post another picture of the momma and her babies? That just makes me swoon. The reason I ask is, our new neighbors have 5 hens, and my husband and I are considering getting a couple, but we don't know the first thing about upkeep, feeding maintenance. Guess I'll have to buy Hens for Dummies. We're still on track to get bees too. :D

Next year.

4. Those would be the
Buff Orpingtons. I have two of them and want more. Very sturdy birds, very 'broody', too.
This mama was less than a year old this Spring when she raised this clutch perfectly:

Ok, ok.I'll stop!

The very best place to find chicken info is:

http://www.backyardchickens.com/
the forums there are filled with friendly people who answer questions willing.

5. OMG, I am in love
The peep in the aqua fabric :loveya: :loveya:

And the last one, those are just the most adorable photos.

I wonder if they have those kinds of chickens over here? We have some cool "ladies" across the street now. I have yet to see their henhouse, but evidently they are laying eggs. :D

And the crazy rooster dude behind my neighbor is still crowing at all hours of the day. I love him too, he's a character.
