2. I favor the boy. He not only is gorgeous, he also looks a little ethereal. He commands attention |
|
The barn is very very nice. But that's a really special boy and it shows.

3. The boy is adorable but I wouldn't want the pic of someone else kid hanging in my living room. |

Good looking kid though.
I pick the house. And I pick it because I always look at pictures the way I shop - would I like this on my wall in my home. I suppose others looking at the photo contest may consider things like composition, tonal quality, etc. But I suspect since this contest happens in GD it's going to be more like people shopping - which would they like best as a background pic on their computer etc.. Just my opinion.

6. That's where I'm leaning, too. |

That's my almost-nephew, btw (my boyfriend's nephew, but he calls me Aunt Robin). Precious, precious kid.
I dig the roof on the barn as much as the overall color of it. It's got interesting color and texture.

And great looking jacket, but still, I can't see anything else "red" about him except his lips, and everyone's lips are sort of reddish. Red hair would have made a huge difference.
I love the barn, particularly because of the red in the roof.

Photogenic. Remarkable expression. Red. Captures a sense of movement with good composition and excellent DoF - even to the wind-swept hair.

10. Red Barn with more cropping at the top. Boy is blurry. |

The boy is a killer, but in the end, my vote would go for the barn.

12. As is, I would go with the barn. |
|
The pic of the boy has potential, but needs a little work in post processing. - a little sharpening (USM or FocusMagic) Optionally: - a little added brightness (+2) - a little added contrast (+5)
That said, for the barn I would probably do some - crop off some of the right side and the top Optionally: - gamma increase - a little contrast increase - a little USM
