Just a few shots before it clouds up again.
Here's Redoubt volcano not erupting, although "unrest continues" according to the AVO. :)

1. So how much
Are you hoping for a big yet not wildly destructive, lava spewing, really cool to photograph eruption? Something with bright red flows at night and massive plumes with all kinds of sweet atmospheric effects in the day.

I know I'd be torn cause that would be waaaaay cool.

I like the Anchorage in the fog shot

2. It would be WAY cool,
which is why I check the Alaska Volcano Observatory website first thing every morning. :) Today would have been perfect with these clear skies, but all they're seeing over there are plumes of steam.

We're not likely to have massive lava flows because our volcanoes basically explode into the sky instead of oozing out over the landscape,

3. Too bad!
Getting a photo of another photographers feet sticking out from under a house sized boulder is nowhere near as good!

4. You should have heard the intake of breath at the second, fog one, and it's
wonderful curved beach. Love that picture

5. Lovely shots Blue! I still can't get used to seeing...
a full-blown city surrounded by frozen mountains and frozen sea. Man, it really looks cold there! :hi:

6. It's been pretty cold again...
Not like in January, but still down around zero. It's supposed to cloud up again tomorrow though and start warming up. It's a trade-off here in the winter. When the sky is blue and the sun is shining, it's cold, cold, cold. When it warms up enough to be comfortable, 20 degrees or so, the sky is nothing but gray.
