2. Thanks. I talked to him for quite a while.
He was very sociable and was genuinely happy. He didn't want to smile for the photo, though. He said he had just had 13 pounds of tumors removed from his stomach. Lost his leg to diabetes, and had severed three tours in Vietnam.

He said he didn't mind me photographing him, but wants a copy for himself. I will take him one sometime this week.

4. If he's living on the street you might want to think about laminating a one of the copies.

these are the Nam vets - I see a number of them in Asheville.
