I've spent the last couple of days researching what AA rechargeable batteries to put in our two Sony HVL42AM flashes for our A100 and thought I would share the results..

It turns out that Sanyo eneloop pre-charged NiMH are going to give nearly the most flashes per charge and are definitely going to give the shortest recycle times.

My daughter and I are in the wedding photography business now and needed the shortest possible recycle times as well as long lasting batteries. The eneloops maintain the highest voltage of all the NiMH AA cells and also have the lowest internal resistance so they will provide maximum current to the flash charging circuitry, giving the shortest possible recycle times of all rechargeable batteries other than possibly some specialized NiCd cells, which don't have near the capacity.

Oh, and the Lacrosse bc-900 is the best charger for your NiMH batteries, did a lot of research on that too..

For anyone who is interested there is a very long and technical thread on batteries on the Candlepower forum..
